Meet our teachers and staff

Nicky Tricozzi
Hi! My name is Nicky Tricozzi and I am the secretary at Montessori Day School. This is my seventh year with MDS. Time flies when you love what you are doing!

I have resided in the Toledo area for eight years and am happily married to Chris for 22 years. My family is my world and I have two wonderful children! My son, Tony, is a sophomore at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and my daughter, Alex, is a senior at Sylvania Southview High School. My free time is spent with my children’s various activities and anything outdoors.

MDS is a second home to me and I absolutely love the daily interaction with the students,  parents and staff. If there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to call me at the office. I look forward to another fantastic year!

Lisa Babcock
Hello!  My name is Lisa Babcock. I was born in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, but was raised in Greensburg, a small town just east of Pittsburgh, Pa. I moved to Toledo four years ago where I met and married my husband, Robert. We’re having our third anniversary in October. I have two sons, Brandon and Jesy.

Some of my favorite things to do are drawing, reading, cooking and walking my dog, Kara, who is an Australian Shepherd.

I recently started working for Montessori Day School as an assistant in the Monarch class. The children are very friendly and helpful and I am so happy to be a part of MDS!

Mary Hunt
Hello! My name is Mary Hunt and I am the directress in the preprimary Admiral room. After receiving my bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, I went on to teach Special Education for seven years.

In that time, I got married to my husband, Gordy, and took off a few years to stay home with my wonderful children Gordy, (4 1/2) and Jude (3). It is my love for children that inspired me to begin to study Montessori education. It is a beautiful philosophy of education. I learn everyday from the children at MDS and feel fortunate because I love my work here it is my passion and my home away from home.
